The AbilityFirst Board of Directors is grateful to Lori Carmona (formerly Gangemi) for leading AbilityFirst as Chief Executive Officer since 2004. Spending nearly two decades working tirelessly on behalf of our AbilityFirst community, Lori has been instrumental in the success of our mission to expand services for children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities.
This month, Lori announced plans to serve another organization where she will continue championing equity and community empowerment. While there is no way to thank Lori enough for her passion and dedication, we wish her the very best in her new endeavor.
Over the next four to six months, we will conduct an executive search to identify our next CEO—a dynamic successor who shares our commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities to maximize their possibilities. During this period, an interim CEO will assume leadership responsibilities, maintaining our mission, ensuring program continuity, and supporting our strong executive leadership team and staff in place at AbilityFirst.
As part of the executive search process, we will actively seek input from our community, donors, partners, and staff to create a comprehensive candidate profile. This collaborative approach underscores our commitment to ensuring that AbilityFirst continues to thrive and positively impact the lives of those we serve.
We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the AbilityFirst staff, leadership and the community for your ongoing support during this transition.
We look forward to the next exciting chapter of AbilityFirst. If you have any questions during this transition, please reach out to David Ortiz, Executive Assistant, at email@example.com
