Over the past four years working for AbilityFirst, I have had the privilege of meeting some of the most empathetic, kind, compassionate people I’ve ever known – families, participants and AbilityFirst staff and supporters.
I am honored to work for an organization that celebrates inclusion, diversity and most importantly, the staff and team members lead with compassion and love. Many of my fellow team members, especially those in the field and working directly with our participants, have so much dedication, passion and love for the work they do! Meeting many of our participants and seeing those friends smiling, laughing, having fun – but also working so hard, doing what they can to achieve their personal best everyday – brings me so much joy!
The best part of my day is when I get a fist pump, a high five, a hug or a smile from a friend at AbilityFirst.
Prior to AbilityFirst, I was the Director of Communications & Corporate Partnerships for Five Acres and before that, I was Publisher and Co-Founder of Pasadena Magazine and spent the better part of my career in magazine publishing. I have a Masters in Organizational Leadership from Woodbury University and I’m a fellow with the Southern California Leadership Network and an adjunct professor at Cal Poly Pomona.
