Adult programs – AbilityFirst programs are person-centered and tailored to individual interests and needs. They are grounded in individual choice, autonomy, community participation, with a focus on creating social connections and a sense of belonging.

Social Recreation programs encompass a variety of interests while offering a fun atmosphere for adults. Activities include typical weekend activities such as parties and dances, going out to dinner and a show, gardening, swimming and the world-famous Club 626 at the Lawrence L Frank Center in Pasadena.

ExploreAbility (Adult Day Program) is a licensed site-based adult day and community integration program (18+) designed for individuals building their capacity toward meaningful community engagement.

Our mission is to help adults identify what is truly important to them—whether that is fostering deep social connections, developing essential life skills, or establishing employment readiness. By blending on-site learning with active community involvement, we empower participants to achieve their personal goals through volunteering and inclusive local activities.

As a licensed program through the Department of Social Services, we ensure a supportive environment that provides:

  • Skill Development: Tailored coaching for independence and career preparation.

  • Community Integration: Real-world experiences through volunteering and social outings.

  • Reliable Support: Consistent, ongoing supervision and dedicated personal care.

PossAbility (Community Integration Training) is a community-based program for adults (18+) who are ready to enhance their independence and become active, autonomous members of their local neighborhoods.

This program is specifically designed for individuals who want to navigate their community with greater self-reliance. Whether the goal is building life skills, fostering social connections, or pursuing professional ambitions, PossAbility empowers participants to set their own pace. We focus on employment readiness and independent community access, helping individuals transition into volunteering roles and professional environments.

Is this program right for me? PossAbility is ideal for those who are building the skills to move through the community independently. Because the program focuses on autonomy:

  • Community-Centric: Most activities take place directly in Pasadena and Los Angeles neighborhoods.

  • Goal-Oriented: Emphasis is placed on professional development and civic engagement.

  • Independent Focus: Unlike our site-based programs, PossAbility does not provide constant, ongoing supervision or personal care support.
