The AbilityFirst Long Beach Center held its, “Rainbows for AbilityFirst” Luncheon at the Grand Event Center in Long Beach on Saturday, October 15, 2022. The annual event featured a shopping boutique with jewelry, accessories, and beautifully crafted gift bags. The live auction was led by local auctioneer and former President and CEO of the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce, Randy Gordon. Mr. Gordon kept the room raising their paddles and helped raise $12,000 during the live auction and “Be a Fan” paddle raise. Auction packages included “Bubbly on the Bay” a champagne luncheon at the lovely beach home of local resident and Long Beach Guild Chair, Mary Alice and her husband Bob Braly, an $800 gift card for Lawry’s Restaurants and a wine tasting excursion through Temecula that included a hot air balloon ride, plus a stunning 18K gold hand-crafted, anchor pendant donated by McCarty’s Jewelry in Belmont Shore. The event raised more than $71,000 for programs and services empowering people with disabilities.
