Sponsorship Opportunities for An Afternoon of Music & Art
Honorary Chair Danny Glover invites everyone to “An Afternoon of Music & Art,” honoring U. S. Congresswoman Maxine Waters and legendary vocalist Ernie Andrews. The second annual event benefits, and is a celebration of, the children and adults with special needs served by the Harry A. Mier Center. “An Afternoon of Music & Art” is on Sunday, July 17 (2 to 5 p.m.) at the Harry A. Mier Center in Inglewood.
By popular demand, Seville will be performing “old school” favorites and ABC7 “Eyewitness News” reporter Leo Stallworth will emcee.
This year’s art showing is by Fredric Booker. Booker has developed his own style of painting Americana in the way he saw it in the 1940s and ‘50s; finding timeless elements in his own childhood memories. His watercolor paintings communicate a warm nostalgic image of time in a very complex period of the world, invoking childhood memories and family values.
Ticket price includes food, refreshments and the opportunity to bid on silent auction items. And this year, in celebration of our 85th anniversary, we are offering VIP tickets with special benefits.
The Harry A. Mier Center Event Committee is producing “An Afternoon of Music & Art.” Led by Co-chairs Berlinda Fontenot-Johnson and Mordena Moore, committee members are Lena Echols, Jackie Furby, Bettye Griffith, Betty Johnson, Booker Moten and Starlett Quarles.
Tickets can be purchased at the Harry A. Mier Center located at 8090 Crenshaw Boulevard in Inglewood and online. For additional information, please call Gwen Willis at the Harry A. Mier Center at (323) 753-3101.
