23rd Annual Golf Classic Highlights

Thanks to participants, sponsors and volunteers, AbilityFirst’s 23rd Annual Golf Classic was a swinging success. The beautiful Glendora Country Club hosted the 2008 event, as golfers spent the day on the golf course in support of our Paul Weston Center in Woodland Hills.

With the sun shining, eager golf teams roamed the greens in spirited competition and taking part in classic golf contests along the way.  Following a delicious prime rib lunch provided by Lawry’s, golfers finished up the tournament as AbilityFirst staff and volunteers prepared for the dinner and awards presentation.

AbilityFirst Development Committee Chair Timothy P. O’Brien welcomed and hosted golfers at the Golf Classic Dinner and Awards Presentation where third, second and first place team winners were announced. Golfers bid on silent and live auction items, discussed the day’s results, won raffle prizes and learned more about the Paul Weston Center and AbilityFirst mission during the buffet dinner. Auction items included Dodgers and Angels tickets, Knott’s Berry Farm and Los Angeles Zoo tickets and an autographed Luke Walton Los Angeles Lakers jersey.

AbilityFirst thanks this year’s Golf Classic Sponsors: Arthur J. Gallagher & Company, Philadelphia Insurance, AALA, Bewley Allen Cadillac, Chubb & Son, Epic Hearing Health Care, Specialists in Long Term Care Insurance, Trader Joes Corp., Triangle Distributing, Lawry’s, Bolton & Company, Bank of America, CNA Insurance Company, NSBN LLP, California Vision Technologies, John J. Baxter Insurance and Financial Services, Liberty Mutual and Alliant Insurance Services.

We appreciate the efforts and support of the AbilityFirst Golf Committee, chaired by Ernie Strobel, and are thankful for their continued hard work on behalf of AbilityFirst.
