Christel McDowell is director of the Harry A. Mier Center. She has worked in the disabilities field for seven years, and joined AbilityFirst in 2006. Christel holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master’s in Social Work and Social Work Administration. She also has a Certificate of Gerontology and is a Certified Abuse Investigator. Christel’s particular specialty is vocational services for adults, though she is experienced in all types of programs for adults with developmental disabilities. Prior to relocating to California, Christel was a member of the board of Pennsylvania Industries for the Blind and Handicapped for several years.
