
AbilityFirst’s Harry A. Mier Center in Inglewood offers programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities, such as autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and epilepsy. The center serves the South Los Angeles area, including the communities of Inglewood, Hawthorne, Gardena, Los Angeles, South Bay, Westchester, Torrance and Lennox. Established in 1976, the center is named for one of AbilityFirst’s most generous contributors. Harry A. Mier and his wife Joan Mier funded the center in Inglewood to help ensure a place for children with disabilities to learn and grow. The property includes three homes where the center’s programs are operated. There are group areas, as well as smaller classrooms and computer access.
The Harry A. Mier Center welcomes the community to its heated, indoor swimming and warm water exercise pool. Please call the Center at (323) 753-3101 and press “1” for additional information. The current schedule is:
