Children of the Lawrence L. Frank Center’s After School Program Stage Annual Pageant
With hushed whispers and giggles the children of the AbilityFirst Lawrence L. Frank Center’s After School Program nervously lined up backstage at First Church of the Nazarene’s theater in Pasadena. The children took one last deep breath for courage and stepped onto the stage. With gusto, they performed a series of musical tributes. Their entertaining performance of Cab Calloway’s “Minne the Moocher” generated enthusiastic participation from the audience
Following a brief intermission, that included a delicious lunch of burgers, chips, and soda from In-N-Out Burger, the children presented the play “Police Squad”. Featuring a cast that included beautiful dames, daring detectives, and greedy gangsters, the audience followed along as gangster Bugsy Malone attempted to outwit Detectives Friday and Gannon and gain control of the cursed Pharos Eye diamond. Fortunately, good triumphed over evil and the Detectives were able to capture Bugsy Malone and lead him off to jail.
After the show, proud parents waited at the stage door for their children to emerge, wrapping up another successful Lawrence L. Frank Center production. |
