The 2008 edition of “Hooray for Hollywood” at the Lawrence L. Frank Center had even more excitement during the center’s 40th year. Nearly 200 adults experienced the thrill of being a famous movie star at a classic Hollywood premiere. Dressed in snazzy and sparkling evening attire, the “stars” arrived at the event via limousine, addressed the fans in the stands, signed autographs and walked down the red carpet as hundreds of attendees screamed in excitement. Celebrity impersonators, including Paris Hilton, Jack Nicholson, and Beetlejuice walked the red carpet with the “star” participants, adding even more excitement to the evening.
Participants also thrilled to a special performance by the Blues Brothers and the arrival of favorite cars from television and film including the Mystery Machine from “Scooby Doo,” the Blues Mobile from ” The Blues Brothers,” and the red Ferrari from “Magnum P.I.”
After being interviewed by media and photographed by paparazzi, the participants entered the center for an evening of fun: live music, dancing, a delicious dinner featuring crepes and other tasty items.
AbilityFirst thanks staff, volunteers, vendors and donors who made the evening a tremendous success!
