FOOTHILL GUILD PAYS TRIBUTE TO SENIOR GUILD MEMBERS DURING 25TH ANNUAL FUNDRAISER
Since 1965 the Foothill Guild of AbilityFirst Claremont Center has been providing volunteer and financial support to the center. As part of its celebratory 25th Annual Fundraiser, dinner and a performance of “The Buddy Holly Story,” senior Guild members were honored for their years of volunteer work and devotion to children and adults with disabilities in the Pomona Valley. Foothill Guild President and AbilityFirst Board Member Patricia Lee recognized these outstanding women with a photo presentation showing various activities through the years, and special words of gratitude and heartfelt thanks.
Now in their 70s, 80s and 90s, the women of the Foothill Guild are still giving. They are humble, gracious and modest contributors to the community. They epitomize the meaning of “volunteer.”
Present at the event were Guild Founders, and active members to this day, Nancy Emerson and Lucille Carr who were honored for their initiative in originating the Foothill Guild 43 years ago. Other senior Guild members attending were Nancy Casey, Ruby Hershey, Marge Myers, Bobbie Baird, Barbara Longwell, Virginia Montalbano, Jane Schaffner, Caryl Manley and Martha Walker. Two members, June Hyman and Pat Rimer, were honored in memoriam.
AbilityFirst thanks the Foothill Guild, founding, past and current members for their tireless devotion and commitment to our Claremont Center and the community.
