Activity Leader (part-time)
(Multiple positions available)
Activity Leaders assist in conducting social and recreational opportunities and activities in a program center. Prepare program materials, assists in set-up and clean up of activity area. Administer program curriculum as directed by Program Coordinator and/or Activity Coordinator. Responsible for monitoring activities and maintaining a safe environment for the program participants. Actively participate in activities and programs, including outings, special events and adventure trips. Provide personal care to program participants including feeding, dressing, and toileting. ECE units required for after school programs, ECE or related units preferred for adult programs. Must be able to safely lift 50 pounds. These positions are part time or Per Diem. Weekend and/or evening schedules available at some sites.

Program Supervisor
We are seeking an individual who enjoys working with children and wants the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others. The Program Supervisor provides supervision and leadership for a staff of up to 50 employees, along with volunteers, in providing programs and services for children with developmental and/or physical disabilities; develops individual service plans with appropriate and measurable goals; works with clients, parents, caregivers, schools and caseworkers regarding programs and problem resolution; participates in fundraising activities for the Center; and ensures that all programs are in compliance with licensing requirements and Ability First’s policies and procedures. Requires 12 ECE units (3 administration units preferred) plus 1 year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, or equivalent education and experience.

Lifeguard
Position is responsible for monitoring activities in swimming areas, providing assistance to swimmers and giving swimming instruction. This position will also share responsibility for pool maintenance. Must have American Red Cross Community First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguarding certificates. Participate in setting goals, advocating and supporting individual choice, and implementing behavior modification strategies when faced with difficulties. Develop and maintain accurate and complete documentation on consumer productivity and behavior. Ideal candidate must have experience working with persons with disabilities, must have completed a high school diploma/GED, college units in psychology, sociology, or a related field preferred. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills; organizational skills; and basic conflict resolution/problem solving skills.

Landscaping Job Coach

Assess consumer’s training needs and engage consumer in activities that will develop/enhance employment and life skills. Participate in setting goals, advocating and supporting individual choice, and implementing behavior modification strategies when faced with difficulties. Develop and maintain accurate and complete documentation on consumer productivity and behavior. Perform basic maintenance on landscaping equipment and machinery, and train consumers to operate equipment in a safe manner. Ideal candidate must have experience in landscaping and working with persons with disabilities, and must have completed a high school diploma/GED. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills; organizational skills; and conflict resolution/problem solving skills.
