Lori GangemiReflection, remembrance and joy are common thoughts as we review the fiscal year 2006-07 at AbilityFirst. Reflection of what has been accomplished, remembrance of lives touched, and joy for the coming year and the unlimited possibilities that lie ahead.

While AbilityFirst continues to build on its rich history and legacy, the future is very much on our minds. Our theme for our annual report is Moving Forward, Growing Stronger. As we embark on a new fiscal year, the midpoint of our five-year Strategic Plan (2005-2010), we are mindful of what we have accomplished and enthusiastic in the knowledge that there is much more to do. In order to successfully address the needs of individuals with disabilities, AbilityFirst must be ever-evolving. Our calculated actions will keep us on track; making strides that will keep us strong and viable as we head into the future.

This fiscal year has seen the development of many new programs and partnerships at AbilityFirst. We encourage you to read through our annual report to review the results.

The AbilityFirst horizon is bright as we continue to fulfill the goals outlined in our Strategic Plan. Among our objectives, we look to our $5 million Capital Campaign to rebuild the outdated Harry A. Mier Center in Inglewood.

Moving ahead, our greatest sense of joy comes from the reflection and remembrance of our dedicated and caring staff, and our volunteer Board of Directors who give extremely generously of their time, talents and resources.

We thank you for being part of the AbilityFirst family. Your contributions are vital to our success! We welcome your suggestions and questions, and thank you for your ongoing support.
