Race for Inspiration

Together we can make a difference!

This year’s Derby Day 5K Run/Walk supporting AbilityFirst was truly a race of inspiration!

The successful event, held Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Santa Anita Race Track, drew a crowd of over 1,500 AbilityFirst friends and supporters, which marked our largest turnout to date!

Participants could be seen dashing toward the finish line as they reached new milestones, and accomplished their own personal goals.

AbilityFirst would like to thank our presenting sponsors, Comerica Bank and Platinum Equity, for their support and commitment to children and adults with special needs, as well as the AS&F Foundation (formerly known as the Forest Lawn Foundation) who challenged AbilityFirst to go the extra mile by matching each dollar we raise above $350,000 to a maximum match of $75,000.

We also greatly appreciate all those who participated, as well as the help of our volunteers and employees who worked tirelessly to make sure the event ran smoothly.

With the 5K Campaign still in full-swing, donations keep rolling in, so be sure to stand by for the final amount raised!
